Santal du Pacifique Extrait is a woody, floral, aquatic scent created for Men and Women in 2016 by perfumer Mathieu Nardin.

Review

This scent is a softer version of its Eau de Parfum counterpart. The Orchid and Violet stand taller in this composition, flanked quietly with the subtle Cream note. An almost romantic quality is achieved, and a feeling of serenity takes over. Though softer, this scent will last. It can be worn at the office, and in any season. It will work well in any time, place, setting, or occasion you choose to wear it to. It has similarities to Christian Provenzano’s Santal Indien.

Inspiration

Santal du Pacifique uses Indian Sandalwood Oil extracted from the heart of the trunk, producing a hypnotically pure essence. The oils in the Extrait are doubled, creating a smoother, more enigmatic, longer lasting essence. Sandalwood is growing increasingly rare in India, so Perris Monte Carlo is giving back by planting 50 new Sandalwood trees for every one they use, in an effort to keep this magnificent tree thriving.

Notes

Sandalwood infuses itself within all layers of the fragrance, holding tightly to the Orchid and Violet notes in the heart. Carrot comes in at the beginning, adding a soft vegetal quality, blending into the cleaner tone of the Sandalwood. A Cream note creates a softness that blends perfectly with the sultry essence of Musk in the base. The Gurjun Balsam, found in the heart, extends into the base, adding to the warmth and lasting power of this intoxicating scent.
