Solstis is a sweet, spicy, aromatic scent created for Men and Women in 2022 by perfumer Shadi Samra.

Review

This scent starts off subtly sweet and fresh with a hint of spice. It slowly develops into a soft spicy scent with Nutmeg and Cardamom brightened and sweetened with a faint hint of the Apple note. The Sandalwood is subtle, as is the Vetiver, both adding a gentle earthiness. It feels like the final grasp of Summer, its warmth giving way to the coolness of the changing season. Those final days where you can still feel the warmth in the air, but it’s not quite warm enough anymore. It has a subtle earthiness like dry grass or hay, but only almost. Vanilla adds the faintest hint of sweetness, that keeps those soft spices and Sandalwood thriving. It feels cozy and inviting and intimate. Intimate like that soft warmth between two people whose skin gently brushes against each other as you sit and watch the sunset. It’s a scent that can be worn any time, place, or occasion and in any weather. It has a casual elegance to it that can be dressed up or down. Its projection is intimate and close to the skin, but will last. It has been compared to Meteore by Louis Vuitton, and has a subtle similarity to Sun Force from The Harmonist.

Inspiration

Solstis takes inspiration from the celestial energy of the Summer and Winter Solstices, times of change and reflection. It welcomes you to invite times of transformation, as happens along your scent journey.

Notes

This scent opens with a bright pop of Mandarin, Bergamot, and Pink Pepper. The naturally sweet essences of Nutmeg and Cardamom, blended with a subtle Pepper note. The citruses mellow the spice, and the spices, mellow the citruses. Neroli adds a hint of floraly, citrusy warmth. The Apple can be felt under the surface as the Sandalwood note starts to become apparent. The Sandalwood is soft and subtle, as is the Vanilla, but both are noticeable. The Vetiver comes in at the end, adding a faint grassiness and earthiness. Everything blends together effortlessly, creating something that is a subtle sweet, spicy, and earthy, and very warm and Summery.
