Review

This scent is intriguing. Layers of Pink Peppercorn are tamed with Orange Blossom and Iris, and warmed with layers of Amber and Musk. Everything flows, and you can almost smell each note taking its turn to shine before blending into the overall composition. The Musky essence makes a skin scent that becomes completely ‘you’ as it dries down. It is inviting and warm, and delicately bright at the same time. It leans ever-so-slightly feminine while still remaining a scent that can be worn by anyone. It is like your most comfortable sweater, the comforting essence of your own space, and has both an innocent and seductive essence. It can be worn any time or place, for any occasion, and in any weather or season. It has been compared to L’eau Papier from Diptyque and Another 13 from Le Labo.

Inspiration

312 Saint-Honore celebrates the opening of BDK Parfums’ first boutique in Paris at 312 Rue Saint-Honore. The perfumer created a scent with a mineral-like essence that mimics the aromas of being inside the store itself, surrounded by the concrete, glass, and stone.

Notes

This scent begins with a double dose of Pink Peppercorn with the use of the Extract and Leaf. A blend of Orange Blossom, Iris, and Tonka Bean tempers any sharpness you might expect, add a gently sweet, creamy essence, with an overall delicate essence. Ambery Musk adds that familiar mysterious, slightly sensual warmth, making the composition slightly aromatic. Ambroxan joins in soon after, adding a gentle depth and furthering the warmth throughout the dry down. A final touch of Oud Wood comes at the end, adding a hint of an earthy, slightly incensey, essence that never takes away from the lightness of everything.
