Caput Mundi is a woody, floral, aromatic scent created for Men and Women in 2018 by perfumer Paolo Terenzi.

Review

Though this scent has many woods in its composition, it never becomes too woody or intense. The floral bouquet within the opening mellows any sharpness that you might expect, and an intriguing blend ensues with a unique lightness and  incredible longevity. It is safe enough for the office, can be worn for any occasion and will work in any season. It is comparable to Ungaro Pour L’Homme III.

Inspiration

Caput Mundi is inspired by the city of Rome, known as the capital of the world, or ‘Caput Mundi, and childhood memories of tossing coins into the fountain at Piazza Navona under the Black Moon, a symbol of good luck and prosperity. The magical haze of the sights, sounds, and smells of the city, and the warm embrace of loved ones creates unceasing happiness.

Notes

A decadent floral bouquet of Bulgarian Rose, Musk Rose, Iris, and Lily of the Valley opens this unique composition, helping to soften the array of woods that follow. Black Indian Oudh blends with Red Patchouli and Sandalwood, with spicy Saffron and creamy Orris adding a crisp freshness. An earthy blend of Cedar Wood, Cashmere Wood, Agarwood, and Cambodian Oudh is softened just enough with the warm and creamy essence of Ambergris. The floral beginning reaches down from the top, entwining itself within this woody concoction, creating an ethereal scent that must be tried!
